Pullen Park

These are the pictures of our Pullen Park trip in August. The first time Colin went to Pullen Park was when he was still a mere bun in the oven at my graduation celebration. I'm sure he had a lot more fun this visit, however, it was REALLY hot that day and mommy couldn't take the heat for long.

A picture of Colin sitting on the turtle. Wouldn't give up his drink for the picture...I guess it is good to stay hydrated on hot days.

Colin and mommy on the carousel. We rode twice....the first time Colin sat by himself and held on like a good boy. The second time mommy rode on the cat beside him and he jumped ship halfway through forcing daddy to balance 37 lbs of squirming toddler while standing up and moving in a circular motion. Don't let the looks fool ya....this thing goes pretty fast.

Overall I'd say the look on Colin's face explains it all.....he had a really good time!! We followed up with cherry limeades and a long nap.

Wrightsville Beach 2009

These are the pictures of our Wrightsville Beach trip on July 29th and 30th. Colin's first trip to see the ocean and play along the shore.

Colin talking on the phone at the beach. He would answer hello and jabber in baby talk to someone for great lengths of time. The idea of a phone with a cord is thrilling to him since mommy and daddy have none at home.

Notice the look on Colin's face. He would run into the waves with this look on his face, fall down, amd crawl back to the shore to do it all again. No fear of the ocean, that's for sure.

Matt will hate that I posted this picture (don't tell him) but I love it!! Both of my handsome boys posing for a picture on the beach.

Colin posing for a picture while eating a hushpuppy at King Neptune's seafood restaraunt in Wrightsville Beach. My boy loves him some fried starches....yummmmy!!

Colin finally letting loose and playing in the sand...but notice he still has his crocs on. Not sure where he gets it, but doesn't like getting his feet dirty. Even wanted to wear his crocs in the ocean.

Chipee & Betsy's July 2009

These are pictures from our trip to Lawrenceville, GA to visit with Aunt Betsy and Uncle Chipee. We arrived on Thursday night...ate, shopped, swam, ate some more, had cake, colored, and were introduced to the world of play dough. All in all, it was a fabulous weekend and hopefully we were decent enough house guests that we'll be invited back next summer.

Everyone coloring in harmony at Chipee's....well for about 5 seconds. Colin hasn't quite mastered the art of sharing or letting others color with him. He refuses to let me or anyone else color with him and abruptly takes your crayon away. Poor Mallory. Oh well, something to work towards.

Don't let my appearance fool you....that water was COLD!! If it wasn't for Colin, mommy wouldn't have been IN the pool but lounging BY the pool. Regardless of temperature, Colin loves the water. He loved getting out of the pool and climbing back in by way of the ladder.

Grammy and D.J. Mallie Mal posing for the camera. Unfortunately, no pix of cousion Mallory and Colin in the pool together. They were on alternating nap schedules so ended up taking turns being the center of attention in the water.

I love this picture of the "girls". Grammy, Aunt Betsy, and Cousin Mallory all enjoying the pool and warm weather.

I think the saying goes "anthing goes at aunt betsy and uncle chipee's". And you can see that the theory is true based on the nutty buddy in one hand and popsicle in the other picture. Colin quite enjoyed the entire visit from plane ride, double desserts, swimming, bath time, to giant coloring books and his first experience with playdough. I hear Erin has lots to teach him.

I know you guys have seen this one before. But he's just so cute, I had to add it in one more time :)

Summertune Fun

Thought we'd share some pictures of Colin enjoying the outdoors in summertime. I found a $10 flower sprinkler at Wal-Mart that you hooks to the end of the hose and twirls around spitting out water. As you can see from the pictures below, he loves it!!

Colin strutting his stuff toward the sprinkler.

Check out those muscles!!

One more. It's the little things I guess when you're little that make you so happy!!

Colin playing in his backyard pool and soaking up some sunny rays!

Colin taking part in filling up the pool. He's fascinated with the hose and always end of drenching himself trying to drink from it.

Spaghetti for Dinner

I just had to post these pictures of Colin enjoying spaghetti for dinner, or as I used to call it when I was little "spusgetti". I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Spaghetti was my favorite food growing up....lots of noodles with marinara sans the hamburger meat. As you can see Colin just can't get enough of the noodles. I must add that he's actually gotten pretty good about using his fork and spoon except when it comes to this dish. I'm not sure where he learned to eat like this.

Who is that in the background?? A certain cat I know loves marinara sauce too.

Mallory's First Birthday - Tennessee

Colin, Mallory, and Aunt Betsy playing with the new kitchen set. Things have come a long way since we were kids....this kitchen has all kinds of neat gadgets.

Colin showing off on the slide at the playground in Eastman Cabins. We took him for a quick trip to the playground while waiting for all the guests to arrive.

Mallory enjoying her first Birthday Cake!! Go Mallory!!

The Birthday Girl in her special chair! Mallory did great opening her birthday gifts!! Maybe Colin took notes and will actually sit still to open his gifts this year.

Colin telling Mallory how to steer her new Cozy Coupe. Already a backseat driver??

Colin playing with dad in the creek. It sure was cold in April!!

Easter Bunny

Colin's first Easter bunny basket!! The Easter bunny sure was generous this year...so much stuff it wouldn't all fit in the basket.

Colin playing tee ball Easter Sunday afternoon with his Easter bunny tee ball gift. He loves counting to three and swinging at the ball. You can see from the look on dad's face that he's trying pretty intently to teach him the proper way to hold the bat. Uncle Chippy and Dad are all about teaching Colin to be hard core at sports.

Colin enjoying his first ever traditional Easter time Peep!! I forgot just how sweet and sugary they are. He seemed to like them okay but luckily wasn't begging for more.

I love this picture of Colin touching the Gila Monster. It was all smooshy with rice like stuff inside and rubbery reptile skin on the outside. His face says it all!!
